چکیده

Abstract Flood is one of the most common natural disasters, which also triggers other disasters such as erosion and landslides. damage can be minimised by ensuring optimum design drainage infrastructure flood management tasks, depends largely on reliable estimation quantiles. This study investigates quantile in ungauged catchments using a kriging-based regional frequency analysis (RFFA) technique. Three main research objectives are addressed this study. Firstly, RFFA models developed 558 from eastern Australia range frequent to rare quantiles (2, 5, 10, 20, 50 100 years average recurrence intervals (ARIs)). Secondly, validation adopting leave-one-out (LOO) technique undertaken identify best worst performing across Australia. Finally, detailed comparison made for with generalised least-squares-based regression technique, known ‘RFFE model 2016’ same dataset evaluate whether there general patterns performance different catchments. The shows that (a) viable alternative catchments, (b) 10-year ARI Q 10 performs among six quantiles, followed 5 20 , (c) found outperform 2016’.

A regional Bayesian POT model for flood frequency analysis

Flood Frequency Analysis is usually based on the fitting of an extreme value distribution to the series of local streamflow. However, when the local data series is short, frequency analysis results become unreliable. Regional frequency analysis is a convenient way to reduce the estimation uncertainty. In this work, we propose a regional Bayesian model for short record length sites. This model i...

The formation of groups for regional flood frequency analysis

A new technique is developed for identifying groups for regional flood frequency analysis. The technique uses a clustering algorithm as a starting point for partitioning the collection of catchments. The groups formed using the clustering algorithm are subsequently revised to improve the regional characteristics based on three requirements that are defined for effective groups. The result is ov...

flood frequency analysis based on hybrid regression method for providing regional flood model (case study: khorasan razavi province)

in regions with deficient or no data, it is necessary to apply indirect methods to estimate the peak flow. regional flood analysis is the most accurate and reliable technique in such cases. one of the regional flood methods for flood analysis in arid and semi arid regions is hybrid technique, which was applied on data of khorasan razavi province watersheds to estimate the peak flow. hybrid meth...

Comparison of hybrid regression and multivariate regression in the regional flood frequency analysis: A case study in Khorasan Razavi province

Background: Magnitude, rate and frequency of the stochastic and unexpected events are of great significance and importance in hydrology. Nowadays, for economic planning of the projects, the use of analytical methods of unexpected events in hydrology is unavoidable. The aim of this study was to compare hybrid regression and multivariate regression to estimate flood peak discharge in the province...
